2025 lanterns

that which moves us

Caitlin Taguibao

This design is about the movement of life and its relation to the concept of time. Time is a river that flows and transforms, just as the snake symbolizes eternal rebirth and healing. Creatures move through waters that pour out of a vase as it spirals upwards to become a snake, giving shape to all that has come before us, and all that will become.

Caitlin Taguibao is an illustrator and mural artist based in Toronto. She has worked on various large-scale mural projects across the city and internationally, on her own and collaboratively with other artists. She finds inspiration through plant lore, personal stories and frolicking with friends in nature. With flowing lines and harmonious compositions, she hopes that her work can both reflect and uplift the communities they are in.
