Sense of
Security
Meng Yun Chiang
Sense of Security is an illustration of a digital musical card in collaboration with B’in Music. Meng Yun’s work was to use the theme of “family” to provide illustrations for the contents and part of the contents was about the sense of security. The story led her to imagine that home is a gentle giant, always embracing returning family members unconditionally, regardless of the season, day or night. Despite homes that could be small or hidden in some places, they are always seen as invisible giants, waiting to welcome their family members to the sanctuary of security and comfort.

After graduating with a degree in philosophy, Meng Yun began to create illustrations. “Although I always claim to be good at using mix media to create, I actually can’t help but want to mess up the image,” said Meng Yun. As a pet owner of a cat and a mother of a young child, the troubles in life are the inspiration for her arts. The circumstances animals face, the perspectives of lives and the meanings of life are things that she ponders every day. She does solo exhibitions or group exhibitions from time to time but her favourite form of works is illustration books. Her recent works include “Monster Mother”, “Dream Hunting”, “Hitchhiking”, “What to do without a rooster” and other illustration book creations. In 2019, Meng Yun was selected for the Bologna Illustration Award.
