Like many important celebrations, getting together with family for a great meal is a favourite activity for many people; the Lunar New Year is no exception.  However, what we have taken for granted isn’t so easy to replicate in a pandemic.  For some, families are no longer the same.  To ring in the Year of the Ox, LunarFest aims to expand the meaning of family to include people around us.  This is the year to have a different kind of family dinner – one you would remember for life.

While many still feel that the Lunar New Year is only celebrated by Chinese, Korean, Taiwanese or Vietnamese communities, LunarFest invites friends from Mauritius Island, Mongolia, the Philippines and Malaysia to share their family dinners with us.  Through food, we will discover our similarities and differences but most importantly, together we are dreaming of a future that has a place for all of us.  May everyone have a great start of the Ox year – enjoy your dinners!
